RECAP: SUITS, S6EP5 – EVERYONE HAS TRUST ISSUES

Continuing on the relationship themes of the season, the writers targeted trust this week. Trust between new and old friends or the lack thereof. People have been throwing around promises all season, but how many of those people can be trusted to keep up their end of the deal? That is what this episode is about.

Mike took his deal to inform on Kevin at the end of last week and I would like to say that Mike is really shitty at his job. Like you can’t just rock back up and ask a guy why he's in prison. You gotta let it play out for a bit till he’s ready. Instead of that, Harvey decides to fast track everything and I mean EVERYTHING by taking on literally everybody as a client. That’s just stupid. It just seems like a move that’s so uncharacteristically Harvey. His whole character has gotten stupid this season, making rash decisions because I’m certain at this point that he loves Mike more than Rachael does.

Frank also isn’t a threat anymore, which is an amazing turn around for a person to make from almost murdering a guy to getting kinda chummy with him. The only redeeming factor of this plot was Kevin’s reason for being in prison. He almost killed people because of drink driving (which is how Mike’s parents were killed Oooooooo). My only problem with it is that it feels off. I feel like he’s covering up for either William Sutter or his daughter to whom Kevin is married to. Most likely it’s for his wife who I believe was the actual drunk driver. If it turns out to be true, then remember that I called it first here and shower me with fame and glory.

Rachel is a character who doesn’t need to be in this show and is honestly useless, with her storyline being disconnected and irrelevant (although they’re trying to connect it back). At least last week they needed her to bang Mike. She can’t even do that this ep. Also Mike calls Harvey more than he calls her. Mike and Harvey hook up confirmed.

Now to my favourite parts of the recent episodes, Louis and Donna. To woo a woman, Louis wants to buy a vacation house. Honestly I think I might steal his plan in the future, if I ever get enough money after drowning in my student loan. Less about me and more about Louis and Donna’s amazing chemistry that keeps the show from becoming a depressing hole. Donna was always amazing (except for that time she went to court and made the show sad) but to pair her up with Louis in a fun way really lifts up the show’s tone. Witty dialogue with great timing from both actors, easily makes them the best part of the show.

All in all, I’m getting a bit bored of Suits because we haven’t exactly made progress in the past two episodes. With the show’s momentum grinding to a halt, my engagement too is at a standstill. Another mediocre episode and hopefully it picks back up next week.
