Seoul Real Estate (서울 부동산) is the debut single from Seoul Nammae (서울남매). Fresh to the scene, this sibling duo brings a unique sound to the Indie and Kpop genre.
Seoul Nammae explore the properties of Seoul in their video, through a surreal viewpoint that borders on low-budget production and artistic creativity. The song tells the story of the Seoul siblings’ struggles of settling down in a new city.
The verses are lyrical, and the beat flows in tune to the sweet vocals of Oh-Kyung and the melodic guitar rhythms played by her brother Jin Ho-Hyeon. Although the chorus was practically non-existent, the song is catchy with its repetition and build-up of words. I suggest keeping a listen out towards the end.
As for the video, one thing I can’t shake is her dancing and wrapping her brother with toilet paper. But hey, I’m sure we’ve all been there at some point in our lives.
